1st Pink Slip for Behavior/Attitude Problem

This is the first in a series of three pink slips which are issued to students whose behavior or attitude is such that it is a serious infringement of policy or rules at St. John Lutheran School. Examples of inappropriate behavior can be found in the school handbook. The behavior described below will not be tolerated, and it puts your child's attendance at St. John School in jeopardy.

The first time a slip is issued to a student we expect the parent to discuss the matter with the child and together take the responsibility for appropriate conduct and correction of the problem. We ask that you contact the teacher whose signature is on this slip to discuss the current situation. No action will be taken on the part of the school at this time because we are leaving that matter to you, the parent(s). Should your child be issued a second pink slip, the child will be put on an in-school suspension. This means that your child will be expected to attend school, but s/he will be isolated from the rest of the class. The student will be expected to complete all homework. This suspension may last until such time that a meeting can be arranged with the parent, the teacher involved, the principal, and a member of the Committee on Education. At that time a decision will be reached as to the appropriate consequences of the behavior. If it should be necessary to issue a third pink slip, the child will be dismissed from St. John School.

2nd Pink Slip for Behavior/Attitude Problem

This is the second in a series of three pink slips which are issued to students whose behavior or attitude is such that it is a serious infringement of policy or rules at St. John Lutheran School. The behavior described below will not be tolerated, and it puts your child's attendance at St. John School in jeopardy.

Your child has been issued a second pink slip which means that the child will be put on an in-school suspension. This means that your child is able to attend school but s/he will be isolated from the rest of the class. The student will be given the daily assignments and will be expected to complete them in a place designated by the teacher. John Lutheran School. Please contact the school office to arrange the meeting.
