I have a special request regarding the materials needed for art class. When you purchase these, I would highly like to recommend the Crayola brand for most of the materials. This company produces good quality materials which will respond to your child's satisfaction when we are doing art projects. I realize that when you stand at a counter of markers, for example, there are going to be those which are less expensive. The quality of materials does make a difference. Many times I have seen children frustrated when doing an art project because their materials do not respond to the techniques being taught.

Also when you purchase the markers, would you please be certain that they are the CRAYOLA CLASSIC ones. These are the true colors of red, green, blue, etc. There are many other types, and if you wish to purchase these IN ADDITION TO the classic ones, that would be fine. But tropical colors and some of the other novelty markers do not work when we are trying to teach concepts of color.

Please purchase the PRANG brand of watercolors. If these are not available, the regular CRAYOLA watercolors (not the washable ones) will work. Both of these brands contain enough pigment so when children are painting they are able to get nice, intense colors. The less expensive watercolors generally produce faded out colors and are frustrating for the students.

Thanks for giving this your attention. I would really appreciate being able to work with classes which have the proper materials.

In His service,
Mr. Averbeck
