Ministries
Choir
Singing in the choir gives you an opportunity to enhance our worship services, while joyfully praising God. The choir sings regularly in the Sunday Services, and also for some special festival services. Rehearsals are on Tuesday evenings from September to May.

Dorcas Society
Women of the congregation who are interested in serving their Lord through caring for the communion ware, altar, lectern, and pulpit paraments. They are responsible for preparing banners and maintaining candle and communion supplies. They work on special sewing projects for the church and school. They're always looking for new members.

Greeters
Greeters are responsible for welcoming those who enter the church. This is an excellent way to meet friends and visitors at church. A schedule for this is posted in the church office.

Ladies Aid
Women of the congregation serving their Lord by sending cards to the sick, preparing cheer baskets for the shut-ins, care for the kitchen, and planning various potlucks through the year. They meet on the 4th Thursday of each month at 12:30 p.m.

Prayer Chain
The Prayer Chain of St. John is a new ministry and has proven to be very successful in its first months of activity. The group is made up of members of St John who, when contacted, pray for anyone requesting a need. The names and reasons of those who contact the prayer chain are confidential and only shared between the chain members.

Secret Prayer Pals
A system by which we personally pray for a specific person assigned once a year by the Prayer Pal coordinator.

Ushers
The ushers help us with our experience of worship in each public service of the congregation. They greet and otherwise assist worshippers, light the service candles, receive the offerings, and in general seek to make our worship experience an orderly and meaningful one. Each usher serves once every three weeks.

Visitation Ministry
Visitation Ministers work with the pastor to assist him in visiting the shut-ins. If you are interested in becoming a Visitation Minister, contact Petra Kalsow, Visitation Ministry Coordinator.
